Learn the basics and get comfortable social dancin Learn the basics and get comfortable social dancing in this fun beginner’s workshop. Nissreen will get you started with basic six-count rhythm for the first hour. You will practice it with different songs until everyone becomes comfortable. We will take a 10-minute break, then, for the second hour, we will be learning right and left turns to open and closed position, plus a few easy and fun patterns that you can take and apply to social dancing. We will take another 5-minute break, then for the last hour, we will have a guided mini practice session, where you can get comfortable with social dancing, and you can also come to Nissreen if you have questions. The workshop will be light, fun, and a healthy escape from your screen. Bring a friend; the more, the merrier. Cost is $25 if you register before 9/30 or $30 if you register after and can be paid via Venmo. Be sure to indicate on the “what is this for” line of your Venmo payment whether you intend to take the workshop as a lead or follow by writing “Workship Lead” or Workshop Follow.” This helps us balance the ratio of leads and follows so everyone has the most opportunity to dance. Wear comfortable flat shoes and comfortable clothes that are suitable for light jogging. This workshop is a safe, inclusive space and LGBTQ friendly. All are welcome!
